DNR TO PARTICIPATE IN DEER MANAGEMENT MEETINGS
SCHEDULED STATEWIDE IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER

LANSING--The Michigan Department of Natural Resources
biologists will provide information and explain the DNR's
scientific deer management principles during meetings in
August and September to discuss deer management issues.
DNR biologists will discuss goals for deer management and
the methods the department uses to estimate the population
of the deer herd. The presentation by the DNR will be
followed by a two-hour open forum where members of the
audience will be provided an opportunity to discuss their
ideas. The input provided by the audience will be useful for
future decisions made about deer management.
The meetings will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the following
